ToggleHow Ranthambore zones will work in 2025

Ranthambhore is divided into 10 safari zones.
Zones 1 to 5 are part of the core area – older, rich in biodiversity, and most likely to spot tigers.
Zones 6 to 10 are the buffer zones – newer, less crowded, but surprisingly rewarding.
Best areas to see tigers in 2025

Zone 3 – Lake of Legends
This area is surrounded by Padam Talao, the largest lake in the park, and the famous Jogi Mahal ruins. Tigers love to relax near water, especially in summer. Tigresses like Arrowhead and her cubs often roam this area.
Zone 4 – The Realm of Queens

Zone 4 is home to famous tigresses like Riddhi and Siddhi, daughters of the iconic Arrowhead. The terrain is hilly, with ruins inside the forest, making it not only thrilling but also scenic.
Zone 2 – Wild, Narrow, Unpredictable

This zone is raw jungle – fewer tourists, narrow trails and surprising tiger sightings. The tigers often move between Zones 1 and 2, so cross-zone sightings are common. Which is great for adventure lovers.
Zone 6 – The Silent Stalker

Although it is a buffer zone, Zone 6 (Kundal) is quiet, beautiful and full of possibilities. There are fewer gypsies here, which means a peaceful safari. Excellent chances of seeing new tiger families, hyenas, leopards and lots of birds.
Zone 5 – Balanced and beginner friendly

Zone 5 is ideal for first-time visitors or families with children. Not as dramatic as Zone 3 or 4 but offers a balanced experience. Frequent sightings of male tigers like T-101 and a variety of fauna.

Valid ID proof (without this you can’t enter), DSLR/zoom lens (optional but worth it), Hat, sunglasses, Water bottle, light snacks, Neutral coloured clothes (avoid bright colours – they scare away wildlife).
